After 24 years with UCLA Health, Debbie will continue her passion and journey to improve the healthcare system with telehealth. Debbie served as the Clinical Director in Pediatrics, UCLA Health and previously served as Chief Administrative Officer, UCLA Pediatrics.
Debbie spearheaded and developed a team for Pediatric telehealth programs. She created sustainable telehealth programs from initiation in 10 pediatric subspecialties with clinical revenue without subsidies, low capital costs and proven ROI. She served on the University of California committee for developing system wide sustainable telehealth programs.
Debbie led efforts in the Pediatric outreach clinic expansion with over 30% annual growth. She has led numerous clinic projects to standardize operations and improve the patient experience. Debbie implemented lean healthcare strategies in clinics and recognized by all levels from executive hospital leadership to staff for operational improvements in patient throughput. She transitioned ambulatory administrative functions to centralized unit for efficiencies and expertise.
Her experience with UCLA includes oversight for clinical, financial management, operations, community outreach, marketing, strategic plans, education, research, IT and human resources. She has extensive experience in business plans, financial strategies and creating tools for revenue optimization and best practices.
As a member of Los Angeles South Chamber of Commerce, she developed a healthcare committee to help educate and collaborate with members for business development, access to care and education in some of our underserved communities in the region.
She had served as organizer and moderator for several telemedicine symposia to join providers, insurance, information technology, vendors, legislative, and community to accelerate telemedicine. She had served as Vice-Chair of the American Telemedicine Association, Business and Finance committee and received Chapter Achievement Award for creating business plans, and addressing areas to include reimbursement, regulatory and outreach for key stakeholders.
Debbie received her master’s degree in health administration from California State University, Northridge and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from George Washington University, Washington, D.C.
